Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. All sessions are done online through a HIPAA-compliant platform.

  • It all depends on your preference. There are benefits to both.

In-person sessions may be your preference if you want to meet in a different setting. or if you want to participate in physically engaging activities (such as art therapy). Getting out of your home can be therapeutic and encourage routine.

Online therapy is a great alternative to being able to find a wider range of services (including specialized therapists). It can also be nice to not have to travel or worry about planning. Many people like the ability to be able to grab tissues from their bathroom or a water from their kitchen. I’ve found online therapy gives people the comfort and space to take care of themselves without worrying about being in someone else’s space.

Things to think about when wanting to do online therapy: internet connection quality and whether you have a private space where you can share openly.

  • No. I have a lot of experience with women and men of different ages and backgrounds. But my best work is done with women (ages 25-45). I chose to market myself to women of color because there aren’t enough POC therapists who understand those experiences.

We choose therapists based on our own experiences and a therapist’s style. We often want to know our therapist can relate and that we don’t have to explain everything to. If something I said resonated with you, please feel free to reach out.

  • My fee is $175. Appointments are 50 minutes in length.

*For those who need a lower fee, I have limited spots available through open-path. Click here to learn more about Open Path Collective eligibility requirements. After reading this if you have further questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

  • No. I do not take insurance. Some of my clients opt to use their out of network benefits and get some of their fee reimbursed directly from their insurance company (after sessions).

Please call your insurance company in advance to verify what your deductible is before you assume that you will be eligible for reimbursement.

  • When you submit the contact form, I get an email sent to me with all the information you provided and I will respond to the email to figure a time for us to meet for a consultation.

A consultation is a brief meeting where you get to ask any questions and for us to get to know each other. It also gives me the opportunity to make sure that it’s something I have experience with.

If you do not see a response from me within one week of submitting the form, please check your spam folder.
